Beauty trends from the Golden Globes red carpet
If we take a look at the Golden Globes ceremony last weekend, we can see there are a number of emerging trends - particularly ones that you wouldn't necessarily see as being so popular.
Take the blue eye shadow sported by Nicole Richie and Kerry Washington on the red carpet. Usually blue makeup is kept firmly in the box marked 'Eighties relics', but the look actually works well on both stars.
Nicole opted for a pale blue ice-queen shade and applied it all over her lids. She echoed the colour with a slightly darker blue pencil eye liner, which was swept along her lower lash line. A touch of black liquid eye liner along the outer corners of her upper lash line gave Nicole a feline, Sixties look, while the false lashes she wore made sure her makeup caused a scene.
Kerry Washington, on the other hand, went down the more subtle route, choosing a shade that suited her coffee-coloured complexion. She added dark silver liner under her peepers and topped off the look with a pale pink lip.
To get the blue-eyed look, try Sleek MakeUP's i-Divine eye shadow palette in Bad Girl, or sweep Eye Dust in Blue Lagoon, Breathless or Ooh Baby across your lids.
Another trend seen at the awards ceremony was the pale and interesting one, with celebrities like Amy Adams, Jessica Chastain and Nicole Kidman all eschewing the tanned look and instead celebrating their natural fairness. If you have very fair skin, make the most of it with Sleek MakeUP's Base Duo Kit in Linen, which has both a foundation and setting powder inside the compact. Give your complexion a little colour with Blush in Pixie Pink, but be sure to blend it into your foundation properly so that no harsh lines can be seen.
