Emma Stone swears by mascara and red lips
Dramatic make-up is crucial on the red carpet, as actress Emma Stone knows only too well. The star has attended numerous industry events this year and has looked super stunning at every one.
So what's her secret? Red lipstick and lashings of volume mascara apparently.
In an interview with InStyle magazine, she said she loves the "instant glamour" that crimson lip colour provides, but admitted she often forgets to reapply it throughout the evening.
To prevent this happening to you when you head out on a date or attend a big event, choose a long-lasting product like Sleek MakeUP's pout paint in Pin Up or Lava to prevent your colour from fading.
Of course make up rules dictate that if you go heavy on the lips, keep it light on the eyes. But that doesn't mean forgoing eye make up all together.
Emma definitely doesn't. She knows that a few coats of mascara can make a massive difference in opening up and defining your eyes.
"I don't leave the home unless I'm wearing mascara," she revealed. "I'm a natural blonde and my lashes are light," the 23-year-od explained.
Depending on the look you're trying to achieve, if your eyelashes are blonde you may be better opting for a brown mascara like Sleek's Volume and Curl.
You can still create that timeless smokey eye make up look that celebs like Emma love. Just use brown and gold shades instead of greys and silvers.
Of course it's not just the make up you need to think about when you're channelling red carpet chic. You have to give your outfit some careful consideration too.
Emma's advice? Ask your mum!
"The polka-dot dress I wore to The Help premiere was inspired by my mother, as she loves anything in black and white," the actress revealed.
"As soon as I saw it, I thought 'My mom is going to be so happy if I wear this'."
