“I was given the opportunity, so I couldn’t say no” is the honest, hardworking attitude that has pushed Amelia Monét to make her dreams a reality. At just 19-years-old, Amelia’s CV is MAD – from being a West End cast member, to a model, an actress and now a singer – and this is only the beginning!
Growing up Amelia was encouraged by her family to be in the arts. Training from the age of 8, Amelia had to strike the perfect balance between work and school life. After completing 2 years of cub school by the age of 10 she would become known as the longest running Nala. “It taught me patience, agility and strength”, traits way beyond her years that she would need performing 6 days a week - “twice on Wednesdays”.
The North Londoner would still be spurred on to follow her passions in singing. Growing up inspired by hip-hop legends Biggie and 2Pac – fast-forward to the release of debut single Baddest and Amelia has featured in Wonderland and Schon! magazine and joined the likes of Mabel and Not3s on the cover of The Guardian’s pegged as part of the force changing the landscape of what modern day pop is.
‘I don’t think my supporters realise how much they make me a better person’
Not only has Amelia featured in our campaign #WorkItYourOwnWay, she’s also the face of our Say It Loud Lipsticks and Lip Toppers campaign.
